The Complete WooCommerce to Shopify Migration Checklist

A Shopify migration is as much about what you preserve as what you build. Here's our internal checklist.

Before migration: export all products, customers, and order history; document your current URL structure; audit existing redirects; screenshot key landing pages for reference.

During migration: map every WooCommerce URL to its Shopify equivalent with 301 redirects; preserve meta titles and descriptions; recreate structured data; migrate reviews and their timestamps.

After migration: submit an updated sitemap to Search Console, monitor crawl errors daily for the first two weeks, and keep the old hosting active for a grace period in case of DNS issues.

Done properly, most brands see no meaningful ranking dip and often see performance improvements within 30 days.
